Curaçao Relief with fresh fruit

Tutti Frutti, dagelijks fruit voor schoolkinderen op een naschoolse opvang

Fresh fruit too expensive for many

In 2005, a new project has been started to distribute fruit to children in (unsubsidized) after school relief. The after school relief in Souax from Un Man Pa Hubentut was chosen, first of all because of the good work this foundation does in Souax and because of the clear and transparent way she is working.

For many in Curaçao, fruit is a luxurious article which is too expensive, although not to be missed in a balanced diet. The daily pieces of fruit provide the most needed vitamins which can only improve concentration and development of these children. The distribution is also intended to teach children to take fruit and think about a balanced diet from young age.

The way we work is as follows: each day, fresh fruit is delivered at the after school relief by the wholesaler for about as many as fifty children. Signed upon receipt and the bills are addressed to the Foundation, not to let the after school relief bear the burden of the administrative procedures. The workers distribute the fruit among the children.

If you would like to donate particularly for fruit, please describe so on your cheque/transfer.
